It was a good day. We met with some people about funding and weren't laughed out of the room. In fact, it looks like good news on that front. We'd figure a way to make this thing with or without a good budget to draw on- but the more money we can raise, the easier it will be. The logistics of shadowing the band for several months combined with the need to glean a large archive of photos, videos, super 8's, etc. means a small staff has to be assembled in order to move in several directions at once. Actually the staff is in place. The possibility of a decent budget simply means I don't have to con them into doing everything on a voluntary basis.
The money thing was a quick diversion from nailing everything down for the band's final shoot for the 'I See Georgia' video. We plan on shooting from noon till early evening on Feb. 2nd. Hopefully, I'll have all the footage I need when we're done. Then the plan is to retreat to finish the edit over the next couple of weeks and have it completed by mid-month.
