I have enjoyed DNC and KK's shows for a very long time. I am hoping folks are able to dig up some pics/footage from the early days. A lot of times when I think of DNC and KK I think of their various connections with other bands and artists.
I have these two genealogies from a few years back (linked below).Unfortunately, I do not have the originals but I bet some old timers out there do.
DNC's influence has been grossly underestimated, and they represent such a fascinating time/era in Atlanta/Athens/Southern Music.

God I have a ton of memories after seeing them more than 50 times.
But I guess the best was the first. Summer of 91' or 92' at The 40watt in Athens. I had been listening to them but the show was a first for me. I remember getting there late and walking up and seeing the "This is not a furniture store" sign on the front of the building. Then going into the tiny opening to the 40watt and walking in and being blown out of my shoes. They had smoke machines going the whole time and the smoke was so thick that it looked like DnC was in a hologram. Wild dog moon was playing and immediatly I was hooked. Kevn playing the red Mosrite, Buren playing the Les Paul Gold Top, Tim playing his blond Fender and Jeff creating thunder on his drum kit.
As the show went on after Kevn played a short acoustic set (Bring home the Bacon was one), Mike Mills could be seen running back and forth across the stage behind Jeff. To which Kevn plays a little Pink Panther music on his Mosrite. Then at the end of course Mike Mills joins in for Straight to Hell. And being a huge R.E.M. fan that just sent me into a trance.
Thank you for the website stuff and putting together a video for "I See Georgia"! I can't wait to see it.

I've seen DNC many times. One of my favorite memories is when my brother(who passed away at age 32 in 1999) and I saw them play their whole catalog over 5 shows at the roxy, they were great shows. I wish the whole world could see Kevn's Genius.
My Favorite memory is from decmber 26th 2008 at centerstage. I took my son to his first concert, we were front row center. Kevn's mosrite and marshall amp were screaming in our face. Then he noticed my son and another boy, which is amazing because Kevn hardly opens his eyes when he plays. He then had my boy come onstage, where he stayed for the rest of the show until they played straight to hell. Kevn And Mac let him come out and sing along with the chorus. If that wasn't cool enough they also played rockin in a free world. I could have died then with a smile on my face. And for King to send me a dvd of the show for Free, that is some cool people.

The band has agreed to allow cameras to invade their collective space in an effort to document the milestone.
The filmmakers will use this blog to keep Drivin N Cryin fans up to date on the project.

Kevn played a few shows at Bank Street Cafe in Griffin, GA. One NYE show and the first time that Tom Clark (from NYC) came to Georgia they played the cafe.... I will dig out some more pictures and stories, I have a cool one of Kevn giving a peace sign, really cool (IMO)...
Bank St Cafe had good food, a tiny stage up in the window, but an upstairs. Don't know if it is still around.
This picture was either kk's first or second show there. My friend took the picture- I was too nervous to take the picture. But I like the strange look kk is giving.
I have to find the tape (mini tape of show) that has the date and setlist. Just thought I'd share the funny picture. It was an amazing show, I believe he did Fly Me > Gloria > ?
Anyways, the NYE show is a good story. Got to drink champane with kk and even got a sweet kiss on the cheek from kk, oh yeah New Year's Day is my birthday.
I do remember that the owner, always had kk a bottle of Jack.... and just an awesome show....

Most of all, I appreciate and value their accessibility. These guys have been great over the years about meeting with fans before and after shows. And, who can forget the newsletters and special releases they used to put out during the heyday?
